I hope you had a wonderful holidays and that the New Year brings more wonderful experiences your way.

Rob and I are going to Zambia at the end of January to do Peace Corps! Man that seems soo soon! But we are really excited!!! Rob will be helping out with a distance learning program that is radio broadcasted to schools throughout the country. And I will be be doing HIV/AIDS outreach and other health education as needed, maybe some malaria, water/sanitation, and hopefully some labor and delivery stuff again :)

We will try and update this blog once every one or two months depending on interenet availability while we are in Africa. I know I will love to get comments on the blog and emails to the gmail acount.

I do really want to hear from you all. I now know our address during staging which is for the first 3 months in Zambia. Staging is another word for training. That address is

At the end of our 3 month training we will find out our specific placement, which is where we will be for the next two years. Once I find that info out I will post it for you all to have ;) It would be so great to get letters from you. Mail takes about 3 weeks to a month to get there but I know it will be soo nice to hear word from you.

An interesting note, we have been told that when people send mail to us, they should put 'religious material' on the outside of the package. This way mail is less likely to be stolen ;) So if you are so kind to send letters, pictures, gossip magazines or any other connection to you and american fare please put 'religious material' on the outside of it ;)

Another contact for us during Peace Corps is the emergency PC line. In case there is any kind of emergency you can call 202.692.1470 from 9am-5pm (EST), after hours the number is 202.638.2574.

Hopefully, I will be able to tell you a cell phone number for me personally that may be a bit reliable once I'm done with staging.
